A better performance …

Today’s squad

Polly, Jack, Tom, James, Jed, Max, Lotjan, Connor, Tommy, Morris, Harry, Saul, Gabe and Daniel

Probably not the best start to a game, we kick off attack well but ball drifts harmlessly to the keeper. Long ball forward and covering tackle concedes a corner. A low cross to the near post is not cleared and suddenly we are 0:1

Game settles down a bit our first real chance comes from a corner . Connor crosses and Max’s header is cleared off the line. The ball pings around the box but we cannot false it in.

Soon after Jed wins the ball in the middle and drives forward past two players into the box. His shot looks goal bound but the keeper flings himself to his right to turn it past the post.

With 20 mins to go we concede another corner . Again we don’t deal with it and it ends in the net 0:2

Last 20 mins and the game is very tight the final chance if the half falls to Saul from a Daniel corner. Saul doesn’t realise how free he is and heads it wide.

A free kick from James that goes just over the bar is the last action of the half 0:2

Second half and we started well putting on the back foot. The first chance comes after 15 minutes good work by Harry down the left finds Gabe , unfortunately the ball gets stuck just behind him and from what looks a certain goal it’s cleared away.

We are punished again from a corner. We have a couple chances to clear but don’t. The ball is rifled in 0:3

The good news is heads didn’t drop and you continued to play well. Harry got the ball down the left again cut in and found Gabe, Who went past one man and scored 1:3

The last 20 mins was very frantic , the opposition wasting time a little. Gabe got another chance soon after and maybe if he went for pace rather than finesse then he might of scored.

A couple of half chances but hard to get a clear one. I felt if we could of just got that second we would of had a chance. But it was not to be . 1:3 FT

MoTM; Good performance from Tom and James today with James just edging it for the award. He defended well cut out loads of through balls and always looked to spring into attack . Well done

Training 8:15 on Wednesday

Hard fought and hard won performance

Today’s squad Frankie, Jack, James, Saul, Hyde, Daniel, Max, Lotjan, Connor, Tommy, Jed, Polly, Harry and Arlind.

Tough conditions today with a really strong wind that made the first half with wind against a tough 45 mins. Not much happen in the first 10 mins as both teams cancelled each in the midfield

Jed was working away upfront and managed to win a corner. Jed swung it in and Max thumped home the header 1:0 15 mins gone.

Still the wind forced us back but James and Saul dealt really well under extreme pressure. In the swirling wind Saul tried to clear the ball dropped to the winger whose speculative shot went flying towards goal Frankie dived to his left and turned the ball round the post … Fantastic save.

Chance were a premium both for them and us due to the wind and some great midfield work from Max , Lotjan and Connor

HT 1:0

Second half and this time we had the wind which meant they were playing in front of their box a lot of the time. After 55 mins Max floated a cross in and the defender lost it on the air and hand balled in the box.

Harry confidently stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way 2:0

We were always in charge of this game and it was about management . Another corner and this time Saul met it and then ball went over the bar when I thought he would score.

Soon though we paid for a bit of lethargic play we didn’t go with the runners and a cross found a player in marked who chested it in on the line 2:1

No heads dropped and we continued to push. Daniel had a great run down the right into the box and we should of scored .

A corner by Jed was headed on to the bar by there defender and then cleared.

The best chance of the second half fell to Harry a long ball out and a mix up between the keeper and defender gave H a free shot on a open goal, unfortunately he didn’t realise how much time he had and took it early and the shot went wide.

Bar a few silly free kicks in the last five mins you managed the game fantastically and deserved the 2:1 FT

MoTM , big shouts to Saul and James today who were magnificent at centre halves, however Max was winner a great headed goal, won loads of headers in the middle and created chances for other

A really good all round performance …

Today’s squad

Frankie, Jack , Tom, James, Hyde, Max, Saul, Connor, Jed, Gabe, Harry, Edonis, Arlind, Lotjan and Polly

Nick wanted you to start well and you all did. I felt we won the midfield battle early and that set the tone of the match. Also we wanted you to keep the ball and play out to the wings which you did.

The first chance came Harry on the left crosses the ball to far post and orange socks Jed was a whisker from heading it home.

Another was when Saul won the ball in the middle went to shoot but he scuffed it the shot fell to Connor who cut inside and scored . However the goals was given as offside which a few of you said he wasn’t .

From the resulting free kick the ball was played long and their forward got past two of you and round Frankie and looked certain to score. However he overrun it and as Hyde got back he threw himself to the floor and the referee booked him for diving.

Frankie took the goal kick but miss hit straight to the forward who again looked favourite to score but Frankie made a fine double save and the danger was cleared

Almost straight away we punished them for the miss Jed won the ball and played in Gabe who stroked the ball into the net 1 : 0 after 15 mins

The next 15 you really took the game by the scruff of the neck

Good work in midfield between Max and Connor led to Saul driving forward and shooting into the bottom corner. 2:0

Jed decided to get in on the long range shooting and won the ball then surged forward to score 3:0

Soon it was 4:0 Saul again from range and that Half Time.

Second felt a bit flat at the start and after 15 mins you paid the price as you switched off at a corner and it went straight in 4 : 1

Slowly you got back on top as you upped your game . Polly played the ball to Harry and some really good work at the byline played the ball across goal. The keeper slipped and Gabe scored form 1 yard 5:1

The last 20 minutes and you were fully in control . A long ball from Edonis found Gabe who controlled it well went round the defender and scored a really good goal 6:1

More chances came Saul hit the post , Polly put the ball in the net but was given offside, Max was unlucky with a header from a corner. 6:1 FT

I thought you were all excellent today, Max had an all action first half covering every blade of grass, Gabe for getting a hat trick, but today Saul was back to dominant midfield enforcer and scored two great goals.

Sunday Home v Edmonton meet 10am

Just didn’t fall for us today………

Today’s squad Frankie, Polly, James, Edonis, Hyde, Tommy, Saul, Connor, Arlind, Sam, Harry, Morris, Jed and Jack

Boys please try to get to games at least 30 min before the match if not more. It effects the warm up and focus !!!

Match started pretty evenly and to be honest it stayed that way for most of the game. First chance broke to them as we failed to go with the runner and Frankie made a great one on one stop. Chances were few and far for both teams. Both teams looked dangerous from corners but we didn’t get many breaks of half chances. Arlind did find some space down the left on a couple occasions but we just could fashion a decent chance. HT 0:0

Second much of the same lots of end to end action nut again we failed to create. A free kick outside the box and Frankie tipped it well on to the cross bar and over for a corner.

With ten mins gone they took the lead a misplaced bass in defence and the ball broke to the forward who scored from twelve yards in the bottom corner 1.0

Heads dropped and soon they had a second. A man unmarked from a corner free header on six yard box. 2.0

This time you shook your selves up and got back into the game, With 25 minutes gone we broke down the left good work between Arlind and Connor meant that Arlind won a free kick just outside the box. Harry whipped the ball in at pace and it ping around the box and into the goal 2.1

You kept pushing for the equalizer but again it didn’t seem to drop. The next chance came to Omonia and againa free kick just outside and this time they hit the crossbar.

In the last minute Morris managed to control the ball fantastically and turned and shot first time wide, he was unlucky as he didn’t realise that he had lost his defender and had so much time . That was the last real chance 2.1

I fully expect us to beat them at home , we just need to play like we did last week, a bit more pace quicker passing and retain possession.

MoTM : This week it went to James, he won countless challenges in the air and always looked composed when he took the ball from defence. Had a short spell in centre midfield to allow Nick to rest players. He also marshaled the defense well and encouraged everyone.

Fantastic second half performance

Today’s squad Frankie , Jack, James, Edonis, Hyde, Harry, Saul, Connor, Jed, Gabe, Morris , Sam, Tommy and Daniel

First half started with us under pressure quick balls wide were pushing us deep into our own half. There first shot went just wide.

After ten minutes the goal the threatened to score finally came a ball over the top and was finished well 1.0

However literally a minute later and it was all even, Morris held the ball upfront and poked it forward to Gabe who ran on and slotted the ball home 1.1

Next big chance went to AP who broke down the middle and unleashed a shot which Frankie tipped on to the cross bar.

Another chance came there way but Frankie was up to the challenge diving full length to his left and actually pushing it out for a throw on .

Ten minutes to go an AP won a free kick on our right. A cross / shot found the bottom left corner 2.1

Heads did not drop and straight away we were on attack first Morris hooked a shot back towards goal which the keeper made a fantastic save in the top left corner. From the resulting corner Morris managed to get his head on the delivery and it rattled the bar. HT 2.1

Second half started and I felt straight away you took control of the game. We started to dominate in the middle and create chances Five minutes later Morris got the goal he deserved and scored after good work from Sam down the right. 2.2

With Sam and Tommy causing problems down the flanks we seemed to create a few half chances, but the ball would not drop to us . However against the run of play we were to go behind again, a bit of slack passing and the ball fell to there forward who had a clear run on goal and put it past Frankie as he came out 3.2

Again you picked your selves up and went on the attack.

With twenty minutes to go the ball is on our left and it was played back to Edonis in his own half, he looked up and spotted the keeper off his line and “Beckhamesqu” he launched it towards the goal it sailed over the keeper and initially I thought over the bar but no it dropped just under the bar or did he just smash a clearance either way 3.3

From he on we took control and I always felt the more likely to score .

Harry soon got a chance to put us ahead from a break away corner, he shot early as the keeper rushed out only to roll the wrong side of the post.

Gabe broke down the left and cut in past the defender to bare down on goal. The keeper came out well and block it for a corner.

From the corner as the ball was cleared it fell to Connor who’s shot was going bottom corner only for a defender to get a last second block.

Saul had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for offside in the build up after good interplay between him and Gabe.

Finally the goal came Jed won the ball back down our right . He drove into the box and poked it towards goal as the keeper came out. Gabe followed in , just in case but said the ball was over the line before he got a touch. 3:4

Harry and Gabe were both unlucky not to add to the goals in the last five minute FT 3:4

MoTM : The second was a great performance by all of you , however today it went Edonis for not only having a great game in the centre of defence and scoring an unbelievable goal….. well done

Controlled the game , but we made it tighter than it should of been…..

Today’s Squad Frankie, Jack, Morris, Edonis, Ollie, Max, Saul, Connor, Tommy, Jed, Harry, Lotjan, Sam, Gabe, Arlind and Daniel

We started the game really well Jed caused instant pressure on the defence and won a corner. Harry’ corner was delivered into the six yard box and some how the ball did not go in even though we had like four attempts

With five minutes gone they broke down the right and the ball was deflected for corner. The ball came in and hit Frankie in the chest bounced out and was hit back into the goal 1.0

Heads didn’t drop and we were soon pressing for the equaliser Jed ran down the middle and in my view was taken out. … not given unfortunately he got injured and came off for the rest of the half.

Chances will still coming and Gabe was unlucky with a shot from range as soon as he came on .

After 25 mins we won a cOrner Harry delivered and Max rose highest in the box to head home 1.1

From here I felt we were in control of the game Edonis and Morris started to dominate in the centre of defence and Saul began to win the ball in the middle allowing Connor and Max to get the ball forward to the attacking 3.

With twenty mins gone we got another injury with Lotjan turning his ankle blocking a shot on goal. he was out for the rest of the game.

The last twenty we were pushing to take the lead but could not get the final ball right HT 1.1

Second half you started where you left off from the first with Jed creating early chances only to hit it wide.

Sam was causing problems down the left. He picked the ball up and ran into the box. the full back lunged into the tackle and a definite penalty . Morris placed it on the spot and smashed it past the keepers left 1:2

Sam though hurt his hand and could not play much more of the second half.

The next 25 minutes I felt we could of scored on nearly every attack. We were finding so much room in the middle that Harry and Connor started to dictate the Game.

Chances came often Daniel hit a great shot that the keeper saved well. Jed and Harry created loads of half chances and the ball would just not fall right for us.

Gabe created a couple of chances both very similar good run down the right and cut back to Saul and Connor both chances just didn’t fall for us and went wide.

Would we pay for these ?? Nearly did !!! They broke down our right the striker hit a shot across and Frankie dived to his left and got a firm hand to push it out with Ollie to clear.

Another chance for us as Saul and Jed broke quickly from a corner with some great football and I felt Saul was bound to score only to pull it wide.

Connor hit a shot soon after that just went over the top right corner.

Edonis also hit a shot that just dipped late but went over the bar

Last ten minute and it gets a little nervy. We should of been at least 4 up and now they got a few chances first Tommy cleared a weak shot off The line and then a few minutes later they hit the post the ball bounces out they shoot again this time Ollie makes a fabulous headed clearance off the line.

Still we had chances to put the game to bed but didn’t take them. Last minute they win a corner everyone went up including the keeper , however no panic as the corner hit the side netting and FT 1:2

MoTM some really good performance today Arlind had a good game working hard in the middle of the pitch when required, Edonis and Morris worked well in the centre to keep chances down, today though Connor won MoTM worked hard in midfield he cleared a certain goal in the first half , closed down and harried the opposition , but mainly it was the space he created in midfield to transition into attack quickly keeping us pushing forward to create chances . Well done

Training is on Wednesday . I think Nick is looking to meet At 8pm so keep a eye out

Well done all that was a deserved and really good win . Although we should of killed the game off much earlier

Solid performance, to get that first win of the season…..

Today’s squad Frankie , Ollie, Saul, Edonis, Jack, Lotjan, Connor, Jed, Arlind, Morris, Sam, Max, Harry, Daniel and Tommy

First half was pretty even, we didn’t really test the keeper to much whist having a lot of the ball. The oppositions best chance came from a speclative long shot which Frankie lost in flight and palmed it on to the cross bar before catching it at the second attempt. For us we were unlucky not to score from corners by Connor and Jed . Also Jed pulled a shot just wide after a burst down the middle HT 0.0

Second half we started well and won a corner straight from kick off, Harry’s corner was nearly bundled in at the back post. Soon after good play down the left found Arlind in the box and his shot went just past the far post.

The last half hour things really picked up a quick ball over the top and we were guilty of not playing to the whistle , the winger ran onto the ball and smashed the ball into the goal from the edge of the box Frankie had no chance. 0.1

Another chance soom came Omonia away, the ball broke in the middle and created a one on one with Frankie who made a excellent save and then followed up with a second save straight away, after which Edonis cleared the lines. some great keeping from Frankie to keep us in the game.

Twenty minutes to we stepped up the pressure and our reward was a corner. Connor floated the ball in and Edonis unmarked in the middle powered it into the back of the net 1.1 back in the game

To be honest there heads dropped a little but we now were controlling the game. Edonis and Saul were assured at the back allowing us to dominate the midfield. A free kick was one in their half on the left, Ollie floated the ball in and this time Max was unmarked in the middle and he headed the ball into the net. 2.1

A clearence by the opposition fell to Morris who didn’t realise how much space he had and his first time shot went wide, however he was not to denied his goal this time we won a free kick on the right, Sam swung the ball in and Morris met it with a bullet header. 3.1.

Just before the final whistle we made it four. Sam made a tackle in our half and it broke to Jed who brought the ball forward. He knocked the ball round one side of the player and ran the other picking it uo in the box then blasted it into bottom corner , great finish 4.1

This week we got back to some of our pass and move football, however it must be the first time i have seen us score three headed goals in a game. it shows we can create / score from diifferent types of football 🙂

MoTM: Honrable mentions to Connor and Jed both worked hard and created chances (jed scoring) from midfield, but today Saul got it for controlled centre half performance. He read the game well, won headers and always looked to play us quickly into attack. Well done

Good afternoon all

Today’s squad

Frankie, Ollie, Edonis, Tom, Jed, Harry, Connor, Max, Saul, Gabe, Morris, Tommy and Jack with debut from Daniel, Lotjan and Sam

Sorry i could not come to the game today but i was not well enough to attend. Therefore my match report this week is short and sweet ……

First half understand we played very poorly , we were too slow to closing down the ball and too slow in the build up. Passing going astray and not creating enough chances. I put this down to lack of game time and the first game of the season. Unfortunately you were 2.0 down at half-time

Second half you picked up the pace and work rate and pulled yourselves back into the game. Two goals by Sam on his debut pulled it back to 2.2. However with five minutes to go the opposition got the winner which both Frankie and Tom felt was a foul but it was not given. Frankie made some fine one on one saves and Max was unlucky with a couple of headers just over the bar. Sam had a good chance for a hat-trick but was unlucky.

Connor told me the game could of easily finished 5 – 5 and a draw would of been a fair result but it was not to be Final Score 3.2

Hopefully full photos and report should be back to normal next week.

A great way to end the League W10 D1 L3, Also baring a Miracle Morris should finish top goal scorer in the league

Today’s Squad Ollie, Hyde, Tom, Edonis, Jack, Jed, Max, Harry, Tommy, Morris, Gabe, Saul, Connor, Sony, Louis and Frankie.

Lunch time K.O. and you all started well. Gabe was finding space down the left and Morris was putting pressure on the back two. We had a coupe of efforts but both went just wide otherwise it was very much a even contest . Jed and Morris combined well which fell on Jed right foot…. on his left it would of been a different story. After about twenty minutes they broke and won a corner. Ollie parried the ball away but it fell to a Edmonton player who smashed it in. 1.0 but not deserved!

With thirty minutes gone a free kick on our left was played in, the ball scrambled clear Tommy won the ball and played it to Sony whose cross fell to either Gabe/Morris and they scored, However the referee ruled for an offside which i didn’t see as they had a man on the line ! Either way score remained 1.0

With two minutes to go they got a free kick on the right as it was played in the referee gave a penalty, Jack got hit in the chest and pushed the player off , however the referee didn’t see the first offense. Penalty stood, Ollie faced the taker and dived to his left pushing the ball away and then we cleared before they could get the rebound. Great save that kept us the game HT 1.0

Over halftime Nick stressed we were falling into their moaning tactics and to move forward and play our football. Which i think you did from the start. From kick off you were controlling the game and looked the more likely to score , After ten minutes a throw from Harry down the right was cleared and hoofed forward. Edonis blocked the forward and Sony cleared. His clearance ricocheted off an Edmonton player and Ollie pounced to run forward and slot pass the keeper as two players closed. Great Goal 1.1

Fifteen gone and we broke down the left with Harry who beat one player then squared the ball to Connor whose first time shot was corner bound however the keeper tipped it round the post for a corner. From the resulting corner from Connor found Saul at the back post who headed it in. Lovely Classic HW & W goal 1.2

Next ten they pushed on a bit and broke down our left a ball in to the box was some how kept out of the goal even if Frankie did get a whack for his troubles. A couple of time they did over hit the cross into the box and we lived dangerously.

With thirty minutes gone we broke down the left and won a throw on quickly taken by Connor to Morris in the middle of the box and we passed it on to Jed who smashed it in with his left foot 1.3 and Game over, you could see the heads drop.

Last fifteen and we were opening them up at regular intervals yet Morris was not on the score sheet, This soon changed as he scored two goals in quick succession as he ran onto through ball and beat the keeper easily both times. As I said hopefully enough for him to finish as top goal scorer. 1.5

Last shot of the game went to Tommy and it went just wide FT 1.5

MoTM : Well i thought you were superb the second half but it went to Ollie with his penalty save and equalizing goal as well as endless running when he was up front well done.

A well managed game…..

Today’s squad Frankie, Hyde, Tom, Edonis, Louis, Max, Saul, Connor, Harry, Morris, Jed, Joey, Ollie, Sony and Arlind

We all new it was going to be hard game in a humid condition on a big pitch, but i thought you all were excellent.From the kick off you took the game to them and were playing the game in their half. A few half chances and shots  from distance went just wide, Jed was getting a lot of room down the left in the first ten minutes. However the game suddenly changed, a long ball out from the back was flicked on Tom went to the ball and was a judged to have fouled the striker. If it was a penalty it was very, very soft. Frankie had no chance 0.1

Heads didn’t drop we went back to playing in their half. A corner from Connor found Saul whose header went just wide. Harry cut in from the right and hit a shot with his left that the keeper saved well for another corner. This time Edonis was unlucky with a header just over. For all the pressure and good football we found clear cut chances hard to come by. They seemed to get a toe or block in the last second.

Finally you scored the goal that you deserved, good work down the left by Saul whose cross found Jed who shoveld the ball on and found Morris who sliced the ball into the back of the net. 30 mins gone 1.1

Last fifteen the subs all came on and carried on the high pressure and intensity that you played. Joey had a really good shot from just outside the box. Polly and Arlind both caused problems down the flanks. Saul had a chance that he pulled just wide after good work by Arlind. We could not find the break through before half time 1.1

Second half we started a little slow, not picking our men up and they created a couple half chances but Frankie was not called into action. Soon we were back on top and hitting them from deep and finding the space behind them. The first ten minutes were fairly even and mainly a midfield battle.

As we moved into the final 25 mins i felt we notched it up a gear. good work down the right ended up with Morris coming on to a low cross. His shot smashed against the post so unlucky.

Harry was begining to find space down the left and cutting in on his right, from one of these breaks he also smashed a shot against the left hand post again so unlucky. Finally the goal came and it was another penalty, this time to us. Harry broke down the left the full back made initially a good tackle and both went down, Harry got uo the quickest and as he ran to goal, he had his legs taken away Penalty…….. Morris took the penalty and slotted it into the corner 2.1

The last fifteen we must of had five or six chances to score but could not find the goal to put the game to bed. With five minutes to Max broke down the middle fed Morris whose shot was well saved but not by the keeper ! Another penalty.

Harry took this one though the keeper got a hand to it he could not keep it out as it bounced over the line 3.1

The referee played another eight mintes of extra time and you probably should of scored two more but it was not to be FT 3.1

MoTM : I thought you all had a excellent game to day, players of note Jed, played in six positions today (LB CB CM LM RM S) Louis good strong game at left back, Tom/Edonis kept the forwards quiet all game. But today it went to Tom Hyde a Captains performance encouraged all game and worked hard up and down the pitch putting in some great crosses and tackles in defence. Well Done Hyde
